COURSE GOALS



Grammar

By the end of our English course students will have a relatively high degree of grammatical control, avoiding mistakes which lead to misunderstanding. By the end of this course students will have a good understanding of less frequent and complex grammatical structures.


Writing

By the end of our English course students will be able to write clear, detailed texts on a variety of subjects, evaluating information and arguments from a number of sources.


Reading

By the end of our English course students will be able to read with a large degree of independence, adapting style and speed of reading to different texts and purposes, and using appropriate reference sources effectively.


Speaking

By the end of our English course students will be able to highlight the personal significance of events and experiences, and account for their views clearly by providing relevant explanations and arguments.


Listening

By the end of our English course students will be able to understand the main ideas of propositionally and linguistically complex speech on both concrete and abstract topics delivered in a standard dialect.


Vocabulary

By the end of our English course students will have a high level of lexical accuracy and a good range of vocabulary for matters connected to his/her field as well as most general topics.


Pronunciation

By the end of our English course students will be able to highlight the personal significance of events and experiences, and account for their views clearly by providing relevant explanations and arguments.
