We have all been in that learning situation: we’re sitting nervously in our desk, hoping that the teacher won’t call our name and ask us to speak or give the answer to a grammar question. At least, that’s how it always was for me in the language classroom. Our teacher was a little intimidating, and with low self-esteem, I dreaded having to speak in the classroom, because any mistake I made would either be criticized by the teacher or laughed at by my classmates. The fact is, I didn’t feel confident at all speaking in the second language I was expected to become fluent in.
